Silt Fencing
J-hook method

This is a method of silt fence installation CCS uses called J-hooking. Instead of one long straight run of fence that is vulnerable to wash outs, J-hooks decimate the energy running water can gain. This allows the water to pool up and lets the silt settle out.

Silt Fencing
Installing angled posts

On steeper slopes CCS installs fence posts at an angle towards the slope. This technique increases the strength of the silt fence.

Silt Fencing
Contoured shape

This stretch of fence is contoured to the slope and the posts are angled in to increase fence stability.
